On January 17, the 2020 Party Work Conference of Shanghai International Group (SIG) was held. Yu Beihua, Secretary of the CPC SIG Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors, hosted the conference and delivered a speech. Liu Xinyi, Vice Secretary of the CPC SIG Committee and President of SIG, delivered the business work report. Wu Jun, Member of the CPC SIG Committee, Secretary for the Discipline Inspection Commission, Commissioner of the Shanghai Municipal Supervisory Commission and Vice Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, delivered the Party committee work report. Present were members of SIG's Party body, executives above the group assistant level, SIG's full-time board directors and supervisors, SIG's dispatched executives, heads of the CYL SIG Committee, the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors of SIG, as well as heads of Sailing Capital, Shanghai Sci-tech Capital, GP Capital, Guohe Capital and Growth FOF.

In 2019, the CPC SIG Committee learned and implemented the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speeches during his visit to Shanghai under the guidance of Xi Jinping's thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era, brought its leading role into full play based on the requirements of "conducting new exploration in deepening the state-owned assets and enterprise reform, making new moves in serving major national strategies and achieving new results in strengthening the Party building of the state-owned enterprise" raised by Secretary Li Qiang during his visit to SIG, grasped the direction, controlled the overall situation and secured work implementation, steadily carried out education themed "Staying true to the mission", and provided strong guarantee for SIG to fulfill the important tasks assigned by the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government.

In 2019, SIG persistently enhanced political stance and served the overall interests, implemented the "dual engine" strategy (state-owned capital operation and investment management) in depth, made progress while maintaining stability, made major breakthroughs in work including the pilot regulation of financial holding companies and the deepening of platform functions, achieved significant results in serving "five centers", three tasks and other major municipal strategies, made positive progress in reform and innovation, fulfilled the annual tasks, and comprehensively achieved the development goals set in the 2017-2019 three-year action plan.

As of late 2019, SIG registered total assets of 262.019 billion yuan (unaudited, same below) according to consolidated statements, up 23.65 percent from early 2019, and an asset-liability ratio of 29.5 percent. In 2019, the SIG system achieved a total profit of 6.423 billion yuan according to consolidated statements, up 2.09 billion yuan year on year.

2020 is a special year, a year when China will build a moderately well-off society in an all-round way and fulfill the "Thirteenth Five-Year" Plan, a critical year when Shanghai will basically build four centers and comprehensively advance three new major tasks, as well as the opening year for SIG's new-round three-year action plan. While fully recognizing the achievements of the SIG system in 2019, SIG should accurately grasp the current situation and key tasks, improve mental state, business management and the effects of decision and arrangement implementation, show the vigor of "fighting from the beginning", focus on key work including building a financial holding group, deepening the function of state-owned capital platforms, improving investment management level, perfecting the risk control system and reforming the incentive and restraint mechanism, implement work, seek breakthroughs and accomplish something to ensure a good start.

The conference required that SIG should fulfill its work in 2020, hold fast to four work bases, and constantly enhance its political stance and work stance; should continue to improve quality and efficiency to accomplish high-quality development; should constantly consolidate the foundations of work including grass-roots Party building, system and mechanism innovation, financing channel development; should stick to bottom line thinking and tighten risk control; should strengthen executive team building, make good use of executives of all ages, optimize the talent training system, and perfect the incentive and restraint mechanism; and should make great efforts on Party conduct and integration building, deepen and refine the mechanism of four-responsibility coordination for Party discipline strengthening.

The conference stressed that all departments and subsidiaries of SIG should, in light of work actualities, effectively convey and implement the spirit of the conference, and required that the SIG system should seriously implement work around the year, to spend a safe and peaceful Spring Festival amid a favorable atmosphere of cleanness and uprightness.
