On the occasion of celebrating the 70th anniversary of Shanghai’s liberation, in order to deeply learn the guiding principles of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and 19th CPC National Congress, the Party leaders and representatives of Party members of SIG visited the exhibition themed with “City Glory – Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of Shanghai’s Liberation” in the Shanghai Exhibition Center. The exhibition was jointly sponsored by the Publicity Department of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, the Political Work Bureau of the Shanghai Garrison, the Shanghai Municipal Archives Bureau, and the Party History Research Office of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee.
The exhibition serves not only as a part of Shanghai’s efforts to carry out education under the theme of “remaining true to original aspiration and keeping mission firmly in mind” and theme publicity activities focusing on “celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China and the Liberation of Shanghai,” but also as a carrier for conducting key project around the theme education and carrying out education on situational tasks among Party organizations at all levels of the Group.
With a timeline as its axis, the exhibition is divided into four parts: “Emancipate Shanghai”, “Build a New Shanghai”, “Dare to Be the First” and “New Age of Pursuing Dreams,” showing the remarkable achievements and unprecedented historical strides Shanghai has made in the past 70 years. As a participant and practitioner of Shanghai’s urban development and reform and opening up, SIG has provided investment, financing and financial advisory services for major infrastructure projects in Shanghai such as Nanpu Bridge, Hongqiao International Airport Expansion, Rail Transit Line 1, and Expressway Network. It has also initiated the establishment of Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone, Jinqiao Export Processing Zone and Lujiazui Finance and Trade Zone by innovating the mode of “funds circulating within the financial sector without entering the real economy and land circulating in the real economy”, laying a solid foundation for the development and opening up of Pudong District.
Stay true to original aspiration in reform and opening up, and promote progress for the glory of Shanghai. Seeing familiar photos and videos, we are proud of Shanghai and of the contributions our Group has made. We will further implement the principles from General Secretary Xi Jinping’s Important Speech in Shanghai, further enhance our sense of mission and responsibility, inherit the glorious revolutionary tradition, and bear the original aspiration in mind on the way forward, striving to contribute to the acceleration of Shanghai to implement the three new major tasks, build “Five Centers” and the “Four Brands”, and making it a pioneer in reform & opening up and innovation & development in the new era.
