On the afternoon of July 17th 2013, a group headed by Mr. Wang Qinmin, Vice Chairman of CPPCC National Committee and Chairman of the National Federation of Industry and Commerce visited Sailing Capital Management Co., Ltd. (hereafter referred to as “Sailing Capital”). Founded by SIG in September 2011, Sailing Capital is managing Sailing Capital International Fund, a fund aimed to provide a commercial and market-oriented platform and professional investment and financing services for domestic enterprises in overseas investment, mergers and acquisitions, and to promote cross-border flows of RMB through overseas investment.
During the field study, Chairman Wang Qinmin first visited the office of Sailing Capital, and then had a panel discussion with executives of Sailing Capital.
During the panel discussion, Mr. Shao Yaliang, Chairman of SIG Board of Directors and President of Sailing Capital, extended welcome to Chairman Wang and his delegation, and gave an overall introduction on the history and management team of Sailing Capital. Mr. Liu Xiaodong, President of Sailing Capital, made a detailed report on Sailing Capital’s service to private enterprises and private capital. Both sides also conducted extensive exchanges on topics including the composition of shareholders, fund raising, investment focus, supervision policies, etc.
Mr. Wang Qinmin expressed great interest in the business development of Sailing Capital. Subsequent to the report, he stated that the nation takes RMB’s “going-out” strategy very seriously. Relevant policies and regulations are under continuous improvement. SIG’s initiative of founding Sailing Capital has created first-mover advantages in approaching the international market. He was impressed that Sailing Capital, as a “going-out” platform for domestic enterprises, set up lots of creative institutional arrangements, especially in the area of serving private companies. He hoped that Shanghai Municipal Federation of Industry and Commerce and Sailing Capital could have more interaction in the future to jointly help private enterprises go out to the world. Meanwhile, the National Federation of Industry and Commerce will appeal for the favorable policies to strongly support Sailing Capital.
