Party Members Fight Virus Together to Demonstrates Original Mission,: SIG's Party Member Volunteers in Action

Shanghai's situation of COVID-19 prevention and control is grim now. The CPC SIG Committee has firmly implemented the decisions, arrangements and work requirements of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, as well as the CPC Committee and Discipline Inspection Commission of the Shanghai Municipal State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SHSASAC), responded to the call of the Organization Department of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and the CPC SHSASAC Committee, and organized grass-roots Party organizations and Party members to complete "double reporting" via "Pioneer Shanghai" WeChat mini program at the earliest possible time, join counterpart or local communities in preventing COVID-19, and subject themselves to unified command by Party organizations of neighborhood committees and communities. Meanwhile, as required by SHSASAC, SIG has established a 6-member volunteer team ready to head for the frontline against COVID-19 as a reserve volunteer force in SHSASAC.

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, SIG's grass-roots Party organizations have conducted fast mobilization, responded upon called upon and volunteered to support community, thereby performing their original mission in the fight against COVID-19 with the political consciousness of "charging ahead". To date a total of over 40 Party members from SIG have devoted themselves to the frontline fight against COVID-19 by spontaneously joining COVID-19 prevention and control in 9 districts, including Pudong New Area, Minhang District and Xuhui District.

After his community was put under closed-loop management, Zhang Cheng, a Party member from the Third Party Branch of SIG's Headquarters immediately joined community management during non-working hours in working days. As a key community volunteer, he assisted the neighborhood committee in studying out a community service scheme, participated in volunteer management, and devoted himself to the collection and distribution of express parcels.

After his community was locked down, Wang Ruohao, a Party member from the Fourth Party Branch of SIG's Headquarters, signed up as a volunteer for the floor. According to the unified arrangement of the community, he duly informed owners and tenants of the time and requirements of nucleic acid testing, and guided them in taking tests, to ensure the orderliness of testing.

Zhou Changqing, a member of the General Party Branch of Sofitel Shanghai Hyland, joined as a nucleic acid testing volunteer of Rende Road Neighborhood Committee, Wujiaochang Sub-district where he lived. He was responsible for keeping order, checking elderly residents' reservation QR codes for nucleic acid testing and helping them fill in codes. Along with several young volunteers in the community, he visited from door to door by area to help elderly residents fill in reservation information to generate QR codes, earning praises and thanks from them.

Cai Weikang, a Party member from the Party Branch of Crowne Plaza Shanghai Fudan, assisted its community in nucleic acid testing and supplies distribution, helped the neighborhood committee inform community residents of going downstairs for nucleic acid testing, and visited to help elderly residents with antigen tests.

Where there are difficulties, there are Party flags; where there are needs, there are Party members. The more critical moments we are at, the more courageously we should assume responsibilities. SIG's Party members are coming forward and forging against the virus with a strong sense of urgency, and playing pioneering and exemplary roles in the fight against the virus, to keep the Party flag flying high in the frontline of COVID-19 prevention and control.
