Pooling Strengths to Fight Epidemic, Demonstrating Sense of Responsibility: SIG's Female Staff Fights COVID-19 in Frontline

The task of epidemic prevention and control is arduous when Shanghai is now at the crucial moment of the battle against the epidemic. To implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech, as well as the work requirements of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, under the leadership of the CPC SIG Committee, SIG's female staff has acted promptly, and shuttled between different posts in the frontline against the epidemic, to build a tight defensive line against the epidemic and contribute the power of women to Shanghai's epidemic prevention and control.

Sticking to posts against the epidemic, demonstrating the sense of responsibility

He Fangqi, Deputy Secretary of the General Party Branch, Vice General Manager and Chairwoman of the Labor Union of Sofitel Shanghai Hyland Co., Ltd., is in charge of maintaining the security and stability of the company. Since the current epidemic outbreak, she has assisted the company's top leader in fulfilling the task of epidemic prevention as required by government departments and the superior company, mobilizing Party members and executives to play a leading role at the crucial moment. She has stuck to her post performing dual responsibilities, been on duty for 24 hours to ensure the security and stability of the company, and led teams in conducting frequent epidemic prevention and security checks of key positions in the hotel. She has been thoughtful from the sound operation of facilities and equipment in the hotel to protective supplies used by frontline staff and the self protection of receptionists. While providing timely psychological counseling to frontline staff and executives, she has fully solicited opinions from them, paid close attention to their livelihood, stabilized teams, and striven to maintain the overall security and stability of the company at the crucial moment.

Staying united against the epidemic

Shi Wei, Assistant Financial Controller at the Finance Department of Crowne Plaza Shanghai Fudan, volunteered to help the needy.

She put on a protective suit and reported to the community as a volunteer. She worked in coordination with community staff to pack antigen test kits. Then along with other volunteers, she delivered test kits from door to door, giving instruction in kit use and telling residents to follow the testing steps strictly. Together with numerous volunteers, she is warming this city!

She was a guardian with heavy responsibility at the hotel. Some financial staff was under home quarantine due to the epidemic and the Finance Department was busiest at the end of the month. While working on month end closing, she made various financial statements and vouchers. Meanwhile, to be ready for the upcoming closedown of Puxi, after inquiring about anti-epidemic supplies needed by all the departments, she immediately contacted suppliers for delivery. Supplies were checked and distributed upon arrival before being delivered to protect the safety and health of guests and staff!

Showing great care in the fight against the epidemic

Wu Qian, a member of the Labor Union, a Party member and HR Director of Crowne Plaza Shanghai Fudan, responded to the call of Yangpu to sign up as local volunteers, but community staff declined her application in view of the fact that her husband is devoted to the volunteer work and she has school-age twins to take care of. After being refused, she insisted on asking if there was something she could do. Then the community arranged her to inform residents to go downstairs for nucleic acid tests. Though the work was easy, she was fully devoted to it and fulfilled it scrupulously.

While serving residents as a volunteer in the community, Wu has been striving to keep staff safe and healthy at the hotel. Facing the resurgence of the epidemic, considering that there were over 40 interns working at the hotel in Shanghai far away from home, the hotel was duty-bound to take care of them, she has convened six meetings to tell them about the current epidemic situation in Shanghai, asking them to protect themselves and appeasing them.

Sacrificing personal interests for public benefits

After the end of the closed-loop management of her community, as the community where her colleague resides remained closed, to provide normal laundry services for the staff on duty, Cai Lingjuan at the Uniform Room of Crowne Plaza Shanghai Fudan, gave up the time with her family, packed up immediately, and hurried to the hotel overnight to fill the vacancy in the uniform room. To her, the normal operation of the hotel and the safety of staff were foremost at the moment.

Upon arrival, Cai set about doing the unfinished work, collected dirty uniforms and delivered them to the laundry, got clean uniforms from the laundry, sorted them out and put them on racks to be received by staff. She worked from the morning to the night for two days in a row doing the jobs of two people without any complaint. When being asked if her family supported her decision, she replied and nodded affirmatively. She was sacrificing her personal interests for the safety of "all" through a transient separation from her family.

Women forge ahead against the epidemic without fear.

SIG's female staff has assumed responsibilities with courage, responded calls positively, devoted themselves to the frontline against the epidemic without hesitation, and striven to be the most beautiful female fighters on their posts. They have stayed united, demonstrating their sense of responsibility in and contributing the power of women to the battle against the epidemic.
