On the night of April 15, according to the work plan of the Organization Department of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and the CPC Committee of the Shanghai Municipal State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission calling for enterprises under municipal supervision to organize volunteers to aid the frontline fight against the epidemic, the CPC SIG Committee acted promptly, requiring that SIG's Party organizations at all levels, as well as its Party members and executives should respond to the call, rise to the challenge and go where they are needed most to assist in Shanghai's epidemic prevention and control. SIG's Party members and executives, as well as grass-roots Party members responded quickly by signing up as volunteers. That night a 25-member volunteer service team was assembled, made up of staff from SIG's headquarters and subsidiaries, as well as funds and hotels under SIG. By the night of April 17, 16 members of the team had reported to local or pairing neighborhood committees and devoted themselves to the intense fight against the epidemic under the arrangements of districts and sub-districts.

Since the current epidemic outbreak, Chen Zhenpeng, Member of the CPC SIG Committee and Director of the Organization Department, has assisted his community in volunteer work, including nucleic acid testing, supplies carrying and resident service. Upon receiving a notice from the Organization Department of the CPC Jing'an District Committee on April 16, he, who had just taken off the protective suit, immediately hurried to the Zhangjiazhai Neighborhood Committee, Shimen Second Road Sub-district to which he would assist. There are nearly 3,000 residents in the large international communities and old-fashioned residential communities governed by the Zhangjiazhai Neighborhood Committee, the communities have complicated internal structures, and the epidemic situation was grim and complex in the communities. Upon reporting to the neighborhood committee, he immediately devoted himself to new volunteer work. He helped to carry vegetables, rice, oils and other supplies, scanned nucleic acid test code for 500-600 residents, stood in the scorching sun for 3-4 hours, often trotted in a hurry to deliver test supplies to 8-9 nucleic acid test points in the community, and sometimes took risks to go upstairs six-floor buildings closed down due to positive cases to deliver living supplies. As a post-90, Deng Liexin from Guoxin Venture Capital was a new volunteer in the epidemic prevention and control. Upon arrival at Weifang Residential Area Sub-district he would assist, he faced the tough task of transferring over 100 positive-tested residents governed by the Yangjiadu Neighborhood Committee in the sub-district. Facing all sorts of difficulties such as high transfer risk, the large number of transferred residents, the shortage of volunteers, irritations of transferred residents and the large proportion of old and weak residents, he told himself that no one is a bystander before the epidemic and he must do the work with love in order to achieve substantial results. He settled down, carefully listened to the difficulties and needs of the transferred residents, appeased their emotions and communicated with them by all means. The transfer was accelerated gradually with his help and completed safe and sound early the next morning. He finally had time for a meal and water. After a short break of less than 5 hours, he rushed to the Zhangyang Neighborhood Committee, Weifang Residential Area Sub-district to find out residents' medication needs. Then he hurried to a hospital to get prescriptions filled for 37 residents and packed medicines carefully before delivering them from door to door.

On the night of April 16, arranged by the Organization Department of the CPC Committee of Pudong New Area, Mao Yadong from GP Capital reported to the local neighborhood committee--Changdao Neighborhood Committee, Puxing Road Sub-district as a volunteer. As a key member of the company's epidemic prevention and control team during the epidemic outbreak in 2020, he with rich experience was unanimously elected temporary Secretary of the Party Branch of the Changdao Neighborhood Committee. While coordinating the committee's epidemic prevention efforts, he took the lead in undertaking high-risk work such as assisting in transfer positive-tested residents, and set an example in the distribution of antigen test kits and supplies. He often said "we must always be there and stay concentrated as volunteers". Once when he was handing out supplies, he saw a positive-tested resident about to be transferred and went up to appease and communicate with him. In order not to disturb his family, he stayed overnight in his car after a whole day of busy work.

At the crucial moment of the battle against the epidemic, SIG's Party members and executives have charged ahead, demonstrating the due responsibility of Party members in the hour of peril by action.
