On July 23, CR Power held the 2017 Sustainable Development Report Conference in Shenzhen. A total number of more than 100 people including Li Ruge, member of the Party Committee and Chief Accountant of China Resources Group and Board Chairman of CR Power, members of the management team of CR Power, representatives of holding departments & offices and subordinate enterprise, etc. attended the conference. Also, Wei Yaodong, Deputy Director of the General Office of China Resources Group and Vice Chairman of CR Charitable Fund, Wang Jie, Deputy Director of Corporate Social Responsibility Research Center of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, main PwC leaders and more than 10 domestic and foreign media representatives including Workers’ Daily, China Environment News, China Energy News, China Electric Power News, Hong Kong Economic Times, Phoenix TV and First Financial Daily etc. also attended the conference on invitation.
Chairman Li Ruge pointed out that CR, which had been established in Hong Kong for 80 years, made matchless contributions in all historical periods of the development of China and achieved outstanding achievements. Inheriting the same idea of social responsibility of China Resources Group, CR Power made efforts to fulfill its obligation as a central government-led enterprise for years and propelled the sustainable economic and social development. Faced with the new era and a new task, Chairman Li Ruge charged CR Power to combine and implement the national strategy, improvise the strategic recognition of corporate responsibility, and fulfill its social responsibility in a down-to-earth manner by participating in the construction of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, driving high-quality development through innovation, deepening the supply-side reform, raising the clean development level and conducting targeted poverty alleviation. Additionally, Chairman Li also hoped that all parties concerned and “social responsibility observers” could continue to be concerned about, support, guide and supervise CR’s social responsibility work and make CR’s responsibility performance level to continuously reach a new level, so as to make more contributions to the national economic and social development.
President Hu Min delivered a welcome speech, in which he stated that by inheriting the “red gene” of China Resources Group, CR Power had been devoted to provide green clean comprehensive energy services for social development and public life improvement, adhering to high-quality, safe and green development and the people-oriented principle, pursuing combined growth of employees and the enterprise, actively throwing itself to public welfare undertakings, trying its best to give back to society, and performing its social responsibility in a comprehensive and down-to-earth manner to make its solid contributions to propelling the sustainable economic, social and industrial development and construction of beautiful China.
Wang Xiaobin, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of CR Power, issued the company’s 2017 Sustainable Development Report, which comprehensively introduces and interprets CR Power’s performance of social responsibility in 2017 with respect to responsibility management, practice, integration and communication, including the corporate operation & management, energy conservation & emission reduction, transformation & development, going green & environmental protection, asset optimization, lean management, targeted poverty alleviation, public charity, staff care, corporate governance and other key performance indicators and work.
Wang Jie, the Deputy Director of Corporate Social Responsibility Research Center of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, issued the “Five-star (Outstanding)” Level Certificate for 2017 Sustainable Development Report to CR Power, recognized and lauded the significance that CR Power has attached to social responsibility, the efforts and achievements CR Power made in performance of social responsibility and the innovative measures CR Power took in responsibility management, practice, activities, and reports, etc., analyzed and explained the new situation, trend, and requirements for the development of social responsibility of present enterprises at home and abroad.
Wei Yaodong, the Deputy Director of the General Office of China Resources Group, introduced the implementation of social responsibility management and practice and preparation and innovation of a social responsibility report, highlighted the responsibility practice of building “Hope Towns” on the overall background of countryside revitalization, gave credit for CR Power’s social responsibility work as well as preparation and transmission of reports etc., and offered suggestions for improvement.
At the conference, the company’s excellent social responsibility practice projects of 2017 regarding clean energy development & construction, upgrading & reconstruction of energy conservation & emission reduction, efficient utilization & recycling of resources and targeted poverty alleviation were also exhibited and applauded; besides, the four short stories about responsibility, including The Green Hope on the Wasteland, Striving to be a City Cleaner, Resolving Overcapacity without Losing Confidence and Lighting up the Dream of Happiness with Small Purple Sweet Potatoes, were also shared at the conference, clearly showing CR Power employees’ spirit in clean energy development, urban pollution abatement, optimization of asset structure, targeted poverty alleviation and other work.
At the conference, Chairman Li Ruge and President Hu Min accepted agreements of employment as “CR Power’s social responsibility observers” to present reporters and invited domestic and foreign mainstream media to supervise and guide CR Power’s responsibility performance, take field visits to its subordinate enterprises and offer advice and suggestions for the social responsibility work of CR Power as “CR Power’s social responsibility observers”.
Chairman Li Ruge accepted the exclusive interview of Phoenix TV, answering questions such as achievements CR Power made in clean energy, transformation difficulties in the current power sector and CR Power’s following innovative development measures.
